Combatient Woman from Guinee Bissau


Guinee Bissau represent one of the examples most important of how the female presence contributed the more effective way to the development of the nationalism.

Without her weren’t imposible to achieve the independence of Guinee Bissau from Portugal the 24 September 20 1973. Woman who participate in differentes tasks like: nurses, educator, militars, logistic of food, communication with the combatient are the principal heroine from the fight armed who take one decade.

Some of them after finish the war occupied public charges in the goberment however the most of the heroines were forgotten without receive any recognition for his importance in the fight for the independence.

In this portrait we have a Francisca Pereira. She born in Bolama the first capital from the Portuguese before the Independence. In the army fight she worked like finantial resposable from the politcis party , so she work in the administration and social areas. She remember when was in this period: "We received offers from socialist countries for resourses, who bring us army, formation and assistance".

In the top right there is a ancient monument from the portuguese period. Is the Palace of the region, where was the residence of the governor of the region.
In the down right there is a picture from 1965 in Kiev. In this picture are Francisca Pereira, Carmen Pereira commissary politics and Titina Silá the first guerrilla figther woman from Guinea Bissau with superior nivel of instruction.
