Shepherd from China

Fang Yang De

Fang Yang De is a shepherd in China (Yang = sheep). All Shepherd in China do the same work everyday, wich consist: guide the flock in to the field, so the sheep can feed properly keeping all the flock together to provide good wool. In the province of Yunnan located in the southwest where the geography is varied: mountainous in the area border to Tibet and with big valley in the down lands. Here the shepherd use different clothing composed for one cape made by sheep wool who protect from the cold, wind and rain in the area most variety geographically in China.

Fang Yang De

Fang Yang De, significa pastor en China (Yang= oveja). Todos los pastores realizan el mismo trabajo cada día, es decir: guían su rebaño al prado para que las ovejas se alimenten bien, manteniendo a las ovejas unidas para que proporcionen buena lana. En la provincia de Yunnan situada en las fronteras suroeste, donde su geografía es muy variada: montañosa en la zona fronteriza con el Tíbet y con grandes valles en las tierras bajas. Aquí los pastores llevan una vestimenta diferente compuesta por una capa hecha de lana de oveja la cual protege del fío, viento y lluvías en la zona más variada geográficamente de China.

Guelmin is located in the north periphery of the Sahara Occidental where for many ages was a place where many caravan stop, it was the union between Ghana and the atlantic coast, together with voyages of adventurers who cross the desert selling goods.

This administrative center of the desert is famous for his market of camels where every weekend the local people sells products of hunting, skins, camels and many others products. Here the negotiations take long time to reach an agreement and sometimes is common to take a sit, with a green tea to can reach a deal.

Este centro administrativo del desierto es famoso por su mercado de camellos, que se celebra cada fin de semana y se venden productos de caza, pieles, dromedarios y un sinfín de productos. Aquí las negociaciones pueden tardar horas en realizarse para que ambas parte lleguen a un acuerdo y muchas veces es necesario sentarse y negociar junto a un té verde para llegar a un acuerdo

Consequences of Civil War in Sierra Leona

Mohamed Kamara

His name is Mohamed Kamara, he have 36 years and born in the district of Port Loko in Sierra Leona. Mohamed suffer the consequences of the civil war in Sierra Leona between 1991 and 2001. He got his amputation in 1998 when the rebels captured him with his father Mr Abu Kamara in Port Loko. They started to ask for money, without find nothing, so they shoot to his father and then he received 3 shots in his right legs. They leave him outside of his house and the rebels put fire to his house.

After that he received supported of red cross and he stayed in Kono hospital for few months, ended up at the end of 1999 in Aberdeen Refugee camp located in Freetown.

In the present he lives in the campament, sharing a small room with 4 amputee friends. Mohamed works on the streets selling plastic bags and sometimes tailoring to get some money and send to his mother who lives with his daughter 8 years old.

He and a few of people who suffer the consequences of the civil war live in the camp and belong a team of single amputee team since 2001.

Su nombre es Mohamed Kamara, tiene 36 años y nació en el distrito de Port Loko en Sierra Leona. Mohamed sufrió las consecuencias de la Guerra Civil en Sierra Leona entre 1991 y 2001. A él le amputaron su pierna izquierda en 1998 cuando los rebeldes lo capturaron junto a su padre el señor Abu Kamara en Port Loko. Los rebeldes empezaron a preguntar por dinero sin encontrar nada, entonces le dispararon a su padre y luego el recibió tres balazos en su pierna derecha, después de eso lo dejaron fuera de su casa a la cual le prendieron fuego.

Después de eso recibió ayuda de la cruz roja y se quedo en el hospital de Kono por algunos meses, terminando a finales de 1999 en el campamento de refugiados de Aberdeen en Freetown.

Actualmente vive en el campamento, compartiendo una pequeña habitación junto a 4 jóvenes amputados. Mohamed trabaja vendiendo bolsas de plástico en la calle y algunas veces trabajando de sastre para conseguir algo de dinero y enviarlo a su madre que vive junto a su hija de 8 años.

El junto a varios jóvenes que sufrieron las consecuencias de la guerra civil y viven en el campamento y pertenecen a un equipo de futbol de amputados desde el año 2001.

Chinese Rural Games

In the province of Yunan in China, exist many little towns. Here is common to find a rural market, usually very crowded where you can find wherever you want it. But for sure you find people playing rural games.
This pictures have been taken in Da Qiuao countryside in the market where you can see many men plays two different rural games. One is the poker, very international game who you see in all the countries where the history of this game is a subject of discussion about his origins and the other the Mahjong a game of skill, strategy and calculation originated in China is who have been exported to the occident since 1920.

En la provincia de Yunan en China, existen varios pueblos pequeños. Aquí es común encontrar mercados rurales generalmente lleno de gente, donde puedes encontrar lo que necesites. Pero algo que siempre encontraras es gente jugando.
Estas fotografías están hechas en el mercado de Da Qiuao, en donde se ve a la gente rural jugando 2 juegos. Uno de ellos es el poker, juego internacional que se conoce en todo el mundo en donde la historia de este juego está sujeta a discusión sobre sus orígenes y el otro es el Mahjong juego de destreza, estrategia y cálculo originario de China que ha sido exportado a occidente desde 1920.

Combatient Woman from Guinee Bissau

Guinee Bissau represent one of the examples most important of how the female presence contributed the more effective way to the development of the nationalism.

Without her weren’t imposible to achieve the independence of Guinee Bissau from Portugal the 24 September 20 1973. Woman who participate in differentes tasks like: nurses, educator, militars, logistic of food, communication with the combatient are the principal heroine from the fight armed who take one decade.

Some of them after finish the war occupied public charges in the goberment however the most of the heroines were forgotten without receive any recognition for his importance in the fight for the independence.

In this portrait we have a Francisca Pereira. She born in Bolama the first capital from the Portuguese before the Independence. In the army fight she worked like finantial resposable from the politcis party , so she work in the administration and social areas. She remember when was in this period: "We received offers from socialist countries for resourses, who bring us army, formation and assistance".

In the top right there is a ancient monument from the portuguese period. Is the Palace of the region, where was the residence of the governor of the region.
In the down right there is a picture from 1965 in Kiev. In this picture are Francisca Pereira, Carmen Pereira commissary politics and Titina Silá the first guerrilla figther woman from Guinea Bissau with superior nivel of instruction.
